  • When does registration open?
    Note: Registration for the 10th Annual Tampa Bay Kids Triathlon will open at 11am on Thursday, October 26th.
  • How do I know if my child is one of the first 400 participants to register?
    You will be notified via the registration site if your child is NOT one of the first 400 registrants.
  • If something comes up and my child can no longer participate, am I able to receive a refund?
    Entry fees are non-refundable – no exceptions.
  • Do parents need to purchase 'Stay & Play' tickets to Adventure Island?
    Parents who plan to visit Adventure Island after the race MUST buy additional "stay & play" tickets (valid only on race day). They are available for purchase at the discounted rate through the kids tri registration system. A 'Stay & Play' ticket is NOT needed to watch the race before the park opens. Additional "stay & play" ticket sales will close at 11:59PM on Sunday, April 14th.
  • If I have an Adventure Island pass do I still need to purchase a 'Stay & Play' ticket?
    No, anyone with an Adventure Island Fun Card or Annual Pass does not need to purchase additional "stay & play" tickets.
  • Can I use my 'Stay & Play' ticket(s) any day?
    Adventure Island 'Stay & Play' tickets are valid on race day only.
  • How do I get my 'Stay & Play' ticket(s)?
    You will collect your 'Stay & Play' ticket(s) at packet pick-up.
  • How much are additional 'Stay & Play' ticket(s)? Is there a limit on how many I can purchase?
    Up to six (6) additional 'Stay & Play' tickets to Adventure Island can be purchased during online registration for a discounted rate of $42.00.
  • If we are opting to use the "stay & play" tickets, will we have to repark?
    Yes, anyone using their "stay & play" tickets will need to repark in the Adventure Island lot at the conclusion of the event. Adventure Island parking opens at 9:30am.
  • Are the race distances the same for all age groups?
    Yes, the race distances are the same for all age groups (6-8, 9-11, and 12-14). The three age groups will have different start times so they are not on the course at the same time 200 meter swim 1.5 mile bike 0.5 mile run
  • Is the race timed?
    Yes, the race will be timed and results will be shared online and near the finish line post-race.
  • Is the race USAT sanctioned?
    No
  • Are bikes provided to participants?
    No, participants are responsible for bringing their own bike for the race.
  • Can bikes have aerobars or training wheels?
    Aero bars, training wheels, wheel pegs and all musical devices/headphones are not permitted.
  • Are parents allowed to help in bike transition?
    No. The bike transition area will be open to athletes and race staff ONLY. This means parents will not be allowed to assist their athlete with finding his/her bike during the race and/or after the race. Our transition staff are dedicated to making sure all athletes find their bikes quickly and safely and are there specifically to help make the transition easy for each participant.
  • Can bikes be staged and left in transition the day before the race?
    Yes, bikes can be dropped off and staged in transition during packet pick-up on Friday, April 19. Overnight security will be in place.
  • Does every participant receive a medal?
    Finisher medals will be given out to every participant who completes the race.
  • Is there a fee for spectators wanting to watch the race?
    No, there is no fee for spectators.
  • Where can spectators watch the race?
    All friends and family are welcome to join us at the park on race day to watch your athlete(s) compete in the race. There are several locations inside the park and along the run course for spectators to observe sections of the course. The bike course is the only section of the course that will not be accessible to spectators.
  • Where will event photos be posted?
    All event photos and recap videos are shared via the Tampa Bay Kids Triathlon Facebook Page.
  • If we are going to Adventure Island after the race, do we just stay in the park?
    If you and your family opt to stay and play at Adventure Island you will be asked to re-park your cars at the main visitor parking lot located at the main entrance of the park and re-enter there.
  • Will top finishers receive trophies this year?
    The Tampa Bay Kids Triathlon is a FUN-raising event with a focus on fun, finishing and fundraising. In recent years, the trophy ceremony has overshadowed our mission of creating an unintimidating and exciting experience for all while helping spread Gavin Lambert’s “finisher’s spirit” and supporting Friedreich’s Ataxia Research Alliance (FARA), our race beneficiary. In 2023 and beyond, all funds typically allocated to trophies will be repurposed and included in the overall charitable donation to FARA
